Students at AACC are wearing printed leggings to keep stylish this semester.

Designs such as elephants and floral prints adorn these leggings, and students have found them to be the most durable pants they own.

All Fashion and Makeup, a beauty website, found that skinny pants with large and colorful designs on them are emerging as a national fashion trend this fall. Likewise, FashionGum, a website dedicated to seasonal fashion trends, has found that printed pants with a design on them are up-and-coming for 2017.

Britney Pieraldi, a sophomore, said she finds patterned clothing to be different from other clothing.

“I like wearing patterned clothing because I think it creates such a diverse texture and feel to what you’re wearing,” Pieraldi said.

Some students have barred buying pants that are already printed and have forged on to make their own.

“I’m obsessed with tie-dye,” said Molly Norfolk, a nursing major. “I made [a pair] myself with just white leggings and a tie dye kit.”

Identity seems to be the most common motivation for wearing printed leggings, and students are not afraid to show off who they really are through them.

“I like to express myself through fashion,” said Shannon McElwee, a theater arts major. “I like wearing a lot of funky pieces. It’s just a way to express myself and my individuality.”

Boots with knee-highsocks and large hoodies are other trends on campus.
