“I don’t have friends, I got family.”

This is a line uttered by Vin Diesel, who reprises his well known role of Dominic Toretto in the fast-paced action film “Furious 7”. The film picks up right after the events of the last film, with the antagonist of that film in the hospital, lying comatose. Enter his big brother Deckard Shaw, played by Jason Statham, as the antagonist in this installment of the Fast and Furious film series. Returning alongside Diesel are Michelle Rodriguez, Dwayne Johnson, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson and Jordana Brewster.

The film has been talked about since its inception, due to the fact that co-star Paul Walker died in a car crash during filming. With the cast and crew deciding to finish the film to dedicate to Walker, Director James Wan cast Walker’s brothers, Caleb and Cody, to finish production. What was remarkable about this was that the crew used CGI effects on the brothers to make them resemble Walker’s character spot on, but the audience will most definitely differentiate the real Paul Walker from the CGI. The ending of the film was also highly talked about, being a proper sendoff for Walker. I’m not going to spoil the ending for the readers, but just know that it will pull a chord with you if you have lost someone near and dear to you, just as the cast did with Walker.

To conclude, I feel the film definitely set the bar high for the action sequences, not just in the series itself, but also in the Action genre today. Vin Diesel went on to comment before the film was released that it is not the end of the series, so that gives the fans of the films something to look forward to. I recommend seeing this movie if you’re in need of something fast-paced, playful and touching.
