Students played bingo with popular music and enjoyed breakfast burritos at a back-to-school event on Thursday.
The Office of Student Engagement hosted the Music Bingo and Breakfast Burritos event as the fourth and final event of Welcome Week.
“I think it’s a cool event,” Jayeim Blake, a first-year kinesiology student and a music bingo winner, said. “[It’s] a place you could just relieve your stress.”
According to Kyle Godduhn-Braaten, a first-year experience specialist and organizer of the event, OSE hired Charm City Trivia from the company Charm City Entertainment to host the music bingo game.
“So we just wanted to do something that’s a little more low-key for students … as the week is winding down,” Godduhn-Braaten said.
According to Godduhn-Braaten, the OSE prioritizes events that appeal to students.
“We just want to make sure that we’re providing a diverse array of events so that any student would want to participate,” Godduhn-Braaten said. “So we just try and come up with a series of events that maybe meet as many students’ interests as possible.”
According to Will Mumford, a third-year transfer studies student and a music bingo winner, events like the Music Bingo and Breakfast Burritos event make it easier to socialize.
“It can be difficult for people to, you know, make social connections on their own,” Mumford said. “So events like this can really help with that.”
According to Mya Wiliams, a third-year business transfer student, events like the Music Bingo and Breakfast Burritos event promote unity.
“I think it’s a really fun way to like, interact with other students and kind of just jam out some fun music,” Williams said.
