Women’s Soccer preps for upcoming fall season
August 25, 2018
AACC Women’s Soccer team is bringing back eight returning players for the fall 2018 season.
Women’s Soccer will play 18 games this season, including eight at Siegert Field.
Last season, the Riverhawks won nine games, lost five and tied one. They scored 35 goals, averaging about 2.3 goals per game.
Second-year athletes Reyna Bocanegra, Randal Graham, Gabriell Keogh, Melissa Stagnitta, Ashley Sherwin, Angela Sarrach, Madeline Stevenson and Angelina Horan are the returning players this fall season.
“We are working together to make this the best season,” Sarrach said. “The [returning players] definitely help with getting everyone adjusted to this new environment.”
“It’s a little bit better every year,” coach Karin Victorio said. “I think we are all doing a good job.”
“Girls that are returning … they cheer on the new players,” incoming freshman Karina Murillo said.
“As long as the offense does their job and keeps it up in the front half we’ll do great,” Sarrach said.
Murillo said she is “excited to play.”
Women’s Soccer’s first game is Monday, Aug. 20, at 11 a.m., against Camden County College, here on campus.
