Students and faculty focused on self-care as they created vision boards Tuesday at a 90-minute event on campus.
Some said they have struggled with the transition between summer and the new fall semester and participated in the event to relax and have fun.
“I wanted to do something more relaxing, more open,” first-year biology student Josie Cell said after the event.
Second-year psychology student Kaylee Walsh agreed the shift from summer to school has been difficult and found creating a board to be relaxing.
The Office of Student Engagement hosted the event to help ease students’ anxiety and encourage them to set their priorities for the new school year, Laura Wilson, an OSE employee, said.
“This event particularly is good to do at the beginning of a semester or like at a new phase of life,” Wilson said.
A vision board is a collage of words and photos that represent the creator’s ideas and goals.
OSE has scheduled monthly student events throughout the semester, including an October pumpkin painting party.
