Students learned about the Student Government Association and enjoyed donuts at a back-to-school event on the Quad on Thursday.
“Donuts with Student Engagement” was the fourth and final event hosted by the Office of Student Engagement for back-to-school week.
“I do think that it’s a good opportunity for this school to showcase, like, what their [back-to-school] events are all about,” Tadashi Sakai, a second-year engineering transfer student, said, “and, like, the different types of organizations that are associated with these events.”
The OSE served doughnuts on all three campuses–Arnold, Glen Burnie Town Center and Arundel Mills.
“We met a lot of students, a lot of faculty and staff that were happy to see us,” OSE event specialist Winnie Shabazz said.
David Cross, a second-year visual arts student, said he “like[s] the back-to-school events.”
“It’s pretty cool over here,” Cross said. “And I got two donuts, and I like it.”
Shabazz said she is looking forward to future welcome-back events.
“Yes, I’m excited. I’m excited thinking about what we’re going to do for the spring semester,” Shabazz said.
