The Student Government Association kicked off a series of weekly events with a virtual bingo game for students in October.

President Ben Nussbaumer, a third-year general education student, said he hopes to give students an opportunity to meet new people and readjust to in-person classes by hosting simple and fun games online that are easy to participate in.

The goal of these events are “just so students can have … some fun, interact with other students, maybe even make new friends,” Nussbaumer said. “We thought just once a week to be some little fun event for everyone is easier for us to run as well… [and] easier for students to participate.”

Students who played bingo won prizes like mugs, lunch bags, socks and water bottles, all with AACC’s mascot Swoop on them to help students show their school pride

“[These events] definitely make me feel more comfortable with the school, and more a part of things,” Will Mumford, a first-year general education student, said. “Although I definitely don’t mind … less people to compete with … it would definitely be nice to have more people there.”

This week, the SGA is hosting Spirit Week with Halloween-themed events.
